Close to Marina, cafes and restaurants all walkable. Nicely decorated and kept property with great views. Large bedrooms with great comfort. Luggage storage available if going to Heron Island. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend the Oaks.

The Staff were very friendly and helpful but we booked and paid for a Classic Triple Room, Multiple Beds, Ensuite and instead we were placed in a Twin room with a Queen and Single bed. This meant the room was much smaller and it made for an uncomfortable night as our beds were too close together and we have sleeping problems. To make things worse, till 2.00am the noise of cars revving and people talking loudly and, in one case, a woman shouting and swearing was unbearable. We had a terrible night’s sleep and had a six-hour drive ahead of us. We were exhausted the next day. I would not stay there again.

We stayed for 3 nights in total and we loved it. The manager was fantastic, quickest and easiest check-in ever! The room was lovely, bright and clean. We had a dog friendly room on the ground floor which had a patio door accessing a lovely grassed area for the dogs to play. Our only critique would be the scent in the room which we found slightly overpowering. We loved the local Canoe Point off leash dog beach and were so impressed by the surrounding amenities. Gladstone marina was another delightful surprise and the Auckland House restaurant was a great recommendation.
